essential programs freeware, open source, and otherwise
every time i run my computer into the ground so far that i have to reinstall windows, it takes me forever to remmeber and re-install all the programs i've come to rely on. so i thought i'd start this list to help me keep track of what i need. some are freeware or opensource, and others are ridiculously expensive.
i'm always looking for suggestions for utilities, graphics applications, web development tools, and music production software. especially music software. especially really, really easy music software. feel free to post additions or email me suggestions.

Johnny Castaway screensaver - I can't get it to work on XP, and I think I've since lost my copy of the install files
